Imaging of extraventricular neurocytoma: a systematic literature review
La radiologia medica, 2020Extraventricular neurocytoma (EVN) was firstly described in 1997. The current literature regarding imaging of EVN is limited to sporadic case reports and case series. EVN is still poorly considered in the differential diagnosis by neuroradiologists, thus diagnosis remains challenging.

Extraventricular neurocytoma with atypical features and ganglionic differentiation
Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2010Extraventricular neurocytoma (EVN) is an unusual variant of central neurocytoma located outside the ventricular system. Both tumours share a similar histology characterised by monotonous populations of round-to-oval cells with scanty cytoplasm separated by neuropil and branching capillaries. We report an EVN arising from the right frontal lobe near the

Extraventricular Neoplasms with Neurocytoma Features
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1997The clinicopathological features of a series of neuronal and mixed neuronal and astrocytic neoplasms of the CNS are described. Patients were aged 5 to 63 years. Six cases were composed predominantly of small round cells with clear cytoplasm resembling central neurocytoma but lacked the characteristic intraventricular location of that tumor.

Challenging diagnosis: oligodendroglioma versus extraventricular neurocytoma.
Clinical neuropathology, 2005Diagnosis of oligodendroglioma from other clear cell neoplasms of central nervous system (CNS) is still challenging despite advances in neuroradiology and molecular diagnostic tools. Herein, we present a 44-year-old male patient who had a diagnosis of right parietal oligodendroglioma grade II in 1994 which recurred in 2002.

Extraventricular neurocytoma presenting with intratumoral hemorrhage.
Clinical neuropathology, 2005A case of extraventricular neurocytoma with spontaneous intratumoral hemorrhage is reported. A 47-year-old man presented with sudden left-sided hemiparesis. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a right parietal subcortical mass with intratumoral hemorrhagic transformation and without contact to the ventricular system.

Extraventricular neurocytoma--report of a case.
Neurologia i neurochirurgia polska, 2009Neurocytomas are typically located within the supratentorial ventricular system. Extraventricular neurocytoma is a rare brain tumour that poses diagnostic difficulty. We report a case of cerebral extraventricular neurocytoma. A 44-year-old man presented with a 6-month history of tonic-clonic seizures.
