Uniqueness of near-horizon geometries of rotating extremal AdS(4) black holes [PDF]
We consider stationary extremal black hole solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with a negative cosmological constant in four dimensions. We determine all non-static axisymmetric near-horizon geometries and all static near-horizon geometries for ...

Reversed Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequalities with weights on the Heisenberg group
In this article, we establish some reverse weighted Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequalities on the Heisenberg group. We then show the existence of extremal functions for the above inequalities by combining the subcritical approach and the renormalization ...

Extremal Graphs to Vertex Degree Function Index for Convex Functions [PDF]
The vertex-degree function index Hf(Γ) is defined as Hf(Γ)=∑v∈V(Γ)f(d(v)) for a function f(x) defined on non-negative real numbers.

Extremal orders of some functions connected to regular integers modulo n
Let V (n) denote the number of positive regular integers (mod n) less than or equal to n. We give extremal orders of , , , , where σ(n), ψ(n) are the sum-of-divisors function and the Dedekind function, respectively. We also give extremal orders for and ,

Functionals of clusters of extremes [PDF]
For arbitrary stationary sequences of random variables satisfying a mild mixing condition, distributional approximations are established for functionals of clusters of exceedances over a high threshold. The approximations are in terms of the distribution of the process conditionally on the event that the first variable exceeds the threshold.

Approximation by Extreme Functions
For a topological space \(T\) and a real normed space \(X\) let \(Y= C(T,X)\), the normed space of all \(X\)-valued bounded continuous functions on \(T\) endowed with the supremum norm. Let \(Y^{-1}=\{f\in Y:f\) does not vanish in any \(t\in T\}\). For \(f\in Y\), let \(\alpha(f)= d(f,Y^{-1})\) and let \(m(f)= \inf \{\|f(t)\|: t\in T\}\).

On some interconnections between combinatorial optimization and extremal graph theory [PDF]
The uniting feature of combinatorial optimization and extremal graph theory is that in both areas one should find extrema of a function defined in most cases on a finite set.

The extremal function for partial bipartite tilings [PDF]
For a fixed bipartite graph H and given @a@?(0,1), we determine the threshold T"H(@a) which guarantees that any n-vertex graph with at least T"H(@a)n2 edges contains (1-o(1))@av(H)n vertex-disjoint copies of H.
