Extremal structure in ultrapowers of Banach spaces [PDF]
Given a bounded convex subset $C$ of a Banach space $X$ and a free ultrafilter $\mathcal U$, we study which points $(x_i)_\mathcal U$ are extreme points of the ultrapower $C_\mathcal U$ in $X_\mathcal U$. In general, we obtain that when $\{x_i\}$ is made of extreme points (respectively denting points, strongly exposed points) and they satisfy some kind

The core of the unit sphere of a Banach space
A geometric invariant or preserver is essentially a geometric property of the unit sphere of a real Banach space that remains invariant under the action of a surjective isometry onto the unit sphere of another real Banach space. A new geometric invariant

Dynamics of doubly stochastic quadratic operators on a finite-dimensional simplex
The present paper focuses on the dynamics of doubly stochastic quadratic operators (d.s.q.o) on a finite-dimensional simplex. We prove that if a d.s.q.o. has no periodic points then the trajectory of any initial point inside the simplex is convergent. We

Extremal dichotomy for uniformly hyperbolic systems [PDF]
We consider the extreme value theory of a hyperbolic toral automorphism $T: \mathbb{T}^2 \to \mathbb{T}^2$ showing that if a H\"older observation $\phi$ which is a function of a Euclidean-type distance to a non-periodic point $\zeta$ is strictly ...

Continuity at the extreme points
AbstractWe prove that a bounded convex lower semicontinuous function defined on a convex compact set K is continuous at a dense subset of extreme points. If there is a bounded strictly convex lower semicontinuous function on K, then the set of extreme points contains a dense completely metrizable subset.

Secure Degrees of Freedom Regions of Multiple Access and Interference Channels: The Polytope Structure [PDF]
The sum secure degrees of freedom (s.d.o.f.) of two fundamental multi-user network structures, the K-user Gaussian multiple access (MAC) wiretap channel and the K-user interference channel (IC) with secrecy constraints, have been determined recently as K(

Manipulation of extreme events on scale-free networks [PDF]
Extreme events taking place on networks are not uncommon. We show that it is possible to manipulate the extreme events occurrence probabilities and its distribution over the nodes on scale-free networks by tuning the nodal capacity. This can be used to reduce the number of extreme events occurrences on a network.

The Long Evolution of Extreme Right Music in Italy and Germany
The importance of music in extreme right political culture is acknowledged in recent academic and non-academic contributions in Italy and Germany. Patterns of music development in different European contexts reflect the prevailing ideological dimension ...

The extreme points of $\Sigma $ [PDF]
For any compact set in C, with complement nl which contains oo and is connected the class E consists of functions g(z) = z + b z-1 + * * that are univalent in 0. We prove that g E E is an extreme point of E if and only if C g(S2) has zero area. Introduction.
