, 2016 과학기술의 발달로 동물실험을 대체할 대안이 개발되면서 동물실험에 대한 타당성이 사라지고, 화장품 시장에서 큰 영향력이 있는 유럽에서는 화장품 안전성 평가 시 실험동물 사용을 금지하는 법안이 통과되었다. 따라서 토끼를 이용하는 Draize 안점막 자극시험과 안자극 평가를 위한 동물대체시험의 비용분석을 통해, 동물대체시험을 이용하는 것이 경제적일 수 있는 편익을 추정 가능하도록 동물대체시험에 대한 타당성을 부여하고자 한다.
