Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Upper and lower bounds for the Bregman divergence
In this paper we study upper and lower bounds on the Bregman divergence ΔFξ(y,x):=F(y)−F(x)−〈ξ,y−x〉 $\Delta_{\mathcal {F}}^{\xi }(y,x):=\mathcal {F}(y)-\mathcal {F}(x)- \langle \xi , y-x \rangle$ for some convex functional F $\mathcal {F}$ on a normed ...

On the Equivalence of f-Divergence Balls and Density Bands in Robust Detection
The paper deals with minimax optimal statistical tests for two composite hypotheses, where each hypothesis is defined by a non-parametric uncertainty set of feasible distributions.

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Background Patterns of spatial variation in discrete phenotypic traits can be used to draw inferences about the adaptive significance of traits and evolutionary processes, especially when compared to patterns of neutral genetic variation.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Utility duality under additional information: conditional measures versus filtration enlargements [PDF]
The utility maximisation problem is considered for investors with anticipative additional information. We distinguish between models with conditional measures and models with enlarged filtrations.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Harnack inequality for non-divergence structure semi-linear elliptic equations
In this paper we establish a Harnack inequality for non-negative solutions of Lu=f(u){Lu=f(u)} where L is a non-divergence structure uniformly elliptic operator and f is a non-decreasing function that satisfies an appropriate growth conditions at ...
