Hydration and dehydration at the tropical tropopause [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2009
High-resolution water measurements from three tropical airborne missions in Northern Australia, Southern Brazil and West Africa in different seasons are analysed to study the transport and transformation of water in the tropical tropopause layer (TTL ...

Magnetic Structure of the High‐TN Antiferromagnet La0.5Sr3.5Fe3O7.5F2.6: A Temperature‐Dependent Mößbauer Spectroscopy and Neutron Diffraction Study

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
La0.5Sr3.5Fe3O7.5F2.6, a rare n = 3 Ruddlesden–Popper oxyfluoride, exhibits robust antiferromagnetism across a wide temperature range from 1.7 to 470 K. Temperature‐dependent neutron diffraction reveals an orthorhombic nuclear and a monoclinic magnetic structure, while Mößbauer spectroscopy shows persistent short‐range magnetic order up to 525 K.

A look into the virosphere of clouds: A world yet to be explored

open access: yesCurrent Research in Microbial Sciences
Clouds are aqueous atmospheric systems hosting diverse and active microorganisms. Viruses may also persist despite harsh conditions, support active viral infections, and contribute to microbial dynamics during aerial transport. However, assessing viruses,

The Gender of Heteroclites1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Few have asked what happens to gender when a noun is heteroclitic – when its inflection draws on more than one inflection class. While heteroclisis has moved from being treated as a marginal irregularity to a theoretically revealing phenomenon, its implications for gender assignment remain largely unexplored.

A Very Social History: South American Cricketing Tourists in Britain in 1932

open access: yesHistory, EarlyView.
Abstract Drawing on both the rich Anglophone cricket historiography and the new Latin American sports scholarship, this article maps out the entangled global networks that shaped the tour of Britain made in 1932 by a team of South American cricketers.

Comparative Satellitomics in Arowanas (Telostei, Osteoglossiformes) Sheds Light on the Evolution of Ancient Satellite DNAs

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This work focused on arowana fishes (Teleostei, Osteoglossiformes) as a model; their widespread intercontinental distribution and basal phylogenetic position within Teleostei make them a compelling model for evolutionary research, especially in the realm of satDNA molecular evolution. Through the integration of genomic and chromosomal data, we analyzed

From LiDAR point clouds to 3D tree morphometrics: New approach to quantitatively evaluate tree shapes

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Tree crowns are complex, three‐dimensional structures whose morphology varies among species, individuals and environments. Although light detection and ranging (LiDAR) provides high‐resolution, single‐tree point clouds that advance species discrimination and the assessment of intraspecific variation in situ, crown shape is still commonly ...
