F41. Expanding the phenotype-genotype correlations of PNPLA2 mutations

Clinical Neurophysiology, 2018
Introduction Neutral lipid storage disease with myopathy (NLSD-M), due to diverse PNPLA2 mutations, usually presents with an asymmetrical weakness, proximal involvement of upper limbs and posterior compartment of lower limbs. NLSD-M can be associated with other co-morbidities, like diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, and most commonly, cardiomyopathy ...

Use of a monoclonal antibody to detect the F41 fimbrial adhesin of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli

Research in Veterinary Science, 1988
A monoclonal antibody that identifies a specific epitope on the F41 fimbrial adhesin was used in coagglutination and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) tests, to identify successfully strains of Escherichia coli expressing the F41 adhesin. The antibody also bound to frozen sections of ileum from piglets infected with an F41 positive E coli ...

Crystallization of the F41 Fragment of Flagellin and Data Collection from Extremely Thin Crystals

Journal of Structural Biology, 2000
Flagellin, which constructs supercoiled filaments of the bacterial flagellum, is very difficult to crystallize because of its strong tendency to polymerize. We therefore crystallized the F41 fragment of flagellin, which does not polymerize because terminal regions that play important roles in polymerization are cleaved off.

Escherichia coli F41 adhesin: genetic organization, nucleotide sequence, and homology with the K88 determinant [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1988
The genetic organization of the polypeptides required for the biosynthesis of the F41 adhesin of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli strains was investigated. Maxicell analysis demonstrated that a recombinant plasmid which mediated mannose-resistant hemagglutination and F41 antigen production encoded four polypeptides of 29, 30, 32, and 86 kilodaltons ...

F41 Huntington’s disease gene expansion carriers are aware of their degree of apathy

Clinical studies, 2018
Background Huntington’s disease (HD) is characterized by motor and behavioral symptoms as well as cognitive decline. Apathy is a common behavioral symptom, and its severity is related to disease progression. It has been suggested that Huntington’s disease gene expansion carriers (HDGECs) are unaware of the signs and symptoms of the disease, which may ...

An Adenovirus Type F41 Outbreak in a Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, 2008
Adenovirus (HAdV) was identified in blood and stool specimens from 6 children on a pediatric bone marrow transplant (BMT) unit within 2 weeks. Two further adenovirus positive patients were identified in other areas of the childrens' hospital. The study aimed to determine the clinical course of different HAdV subtypes and to investigate whether the ...
