Laser‐Based In Situ Diagnostics of Temperature and Material‐Growth Dynamics in Photothermal Laser Nanoprinting of ZnO

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work elucidates the previously unknown thermal dynamics during sub‐micrometer photothermal laser printing of zinc oxide using a non‐invasive transmission‐based in situ measurement. The elevated temperatures are shown to be highly localized around the laser focal spot, reaching average temperature increases of about 113 K per mW of laser power ...

A Dual‐Frequency Sensitivity Model for Optical Fibre Ultrasonic Sensors in Power Transformer Partial Discharge Detection

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The detection of partial discharges (PD) on the power transformer tank demands higher sensitivity in ultrasonic detection. To target the detection frequency band for sensor optimisation and enhance sensitivity, this paper presents a dual‐frequency sensitivity model for optical fibre ultrasonic sensors.

Nondestructive Quantification of Water Ingress in PV Modules via Spectroscopic and Chemical Analysis for Enhanced Quality Assurance and On‐Site Inspection

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 6, Page 693-707, June 2026.
This study presents a novel, nondestructive in situ method to quantify water ingress using near‐infrared absorption (NIRA) spectroscopy, calibrated with absolute water content via Karl–Fischer titration (KFT). The presented approach offers a powerful quality assurance and inspection tool for module manufacturers and solar developers, supporting ...

Electromagnetic Quasinormal Modes: A Foundational Framework for Describing Fano Resonances of Extinction Spectra

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
An ab initio electromagnetic framework links quasinormal modes to Fano resonances in extinction spectra. Analytical expressions for the Fano asymmetry and intensity parameters are derived from overlap integrals, enabling rapid spectral reconstruction and physical interpretation.

Interference‐Induced Cavity Resonances and Imaginary Rabi Splitting

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Coupling of a two‐level emitter to (a, b) a single‐mode resonance with a Lorentzian spectral density, and (c, d) a two‐mode cavity with a more complex spectral density. This work reveals a new polaritonic regime beyond the single‐mode description, emerging from emitter interaction with the interference‐induced resonance associated with the Fano ...
