Two‐Dimensional Reconfigurable Photodiode for In‐Sensor Color Filtering and Spectral Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
By harnessing the photodoping of different aggregates, the device exhibits wavelength‐dependent volatile‐to‐nonvolatile photoresponses that can be reconfigured via bias modulation. This enables in‐sensor color filtering and spectral‐encrypted information processing, eliminating reliance on external optical filters or post‐processing algorithms ...

Terahertz Chiral Metamaterials Enabling Broadband Polarization Conversion Using Polarization Guiding Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
A broadband terahertz polarization rotator consisting of twistingly stacked silicon–air metagratings is designed based on the polarization guiding effect and experimentally shown to achieve 90° linear polarization rotation for both TE and TM incidences.

Ultrafast Control of Coherent Acoustic Lattice Dynamics in the Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Alloy WSSe

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, May 2026.
Coherent acoustic phonons are generated and optically controlled in bulk WSSe alloy samples using ultrafast spectroscopy. The alloy exhibits a strong coherent acoustic response, which is not an intermediate state between WS? and WSe?. Instead, a much more complex mechanism is proposed.

Quantifying Optical Disorder in CsFaPb(Br,I)3 Perovskites via Urbach Energy Analysis Using OPAL2 Fresnel‐Based Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examines light‐matter interactions in CsFAPb(Br, I)3 perovskite thin films by analyzing their absorption, reflection, and emission properties using Fresnel‐based OPAL2 simulations. The optical spectra show sharp absorption edges at 1.55 – 1.60 eV for CH3NH3PbI3 and triple‐cation perovskites, which blue‐shift to ∼1.8 eV with ...

Dual‐Wavelength Switchable Focusing via a Fabry‐Pérot Resonance‐Enabled Hydrogel Metalens

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, May 2026.
A hydrogel metalens is demonstrated for dual‐wavelength switchable focusing based on Fabry‐Pérot resonance. Under the low relative humidity, the metalens exclusively focuses light with a resonance wavelength of 470 nm and directly reflects light of other wavelengths.

Brillouin Scattering Observations of Elastic Behavior Across the Post‐Stishovite Transition Under Deviatoric Stress in Polycrystalline Al‐Bearing Stishovite

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Stishovite (SiO2), a key phase in subducted mid‐ocean ridge basalt (MORB), undergoes a ferroelastic transition to a CaCl2‐type structure, potentially explaining localized shear wave velocity (VS) anomalies in the shallow to mid‐lower mantle. However, the phase boundary determining this transition remains debated.

Ultrathin Perovskite Solar Cells With γ‐Ray Tolerance Enabled by a Flexible Radiation‐Resistant Plastic Substrate

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 8, 27 April 2026.
This work demonstrates ultrathin, flexible perovskite solar cells exhibiting exceptional gamma‐ray radiation tolerance. By integrating a radiation‐tolerant perovskite solar cell with an ultrathin parylene/SU‐8 plastic substrate, the cells maintain power conversion efficiencies of 15.0% after severe total ionizing dose conditions up to 890 krad (Si ...
