Fabry-Perot Measurements of the Dynamics of Globular Cluster Cores: M15 (NGC~7078)

open access: yes, 1994
We report the first use of the Rutgers Imaging Fabry-Perot Spectrophotometer to study the dynamics of the cores of globular clusters. We have obtained velocities for cluster stars by tuning the Fabry-Perot to take a series of narrow-band images at ...

Thickness Dependence of Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Multilayer 3R‐MoS2

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Thickness as a key design parameter for optimizing the nonlinear optical response of layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) materials is established. The demonstrated correlation between thickness, linear spectra, and harmonic generation efficiency provides a powerful framework for tailoring nonlinear performance.

New Broadband LIDAR for Greenhouse Carbon Dioxide Gas Sensing in the Earth's Atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We present demonstration of a novel broadband lidar technique capable of dealing with the atmospherically induced variations in CO2 absorption using a Fabry-Perot based detector and a broadband laser.

A General Approach to Optomechanical Parametric Instabilities

open access: yes, 2009
We present a simple feedback description of parametric instabilities which can be applied to a variety of optical systems. Parametric instabilities are of particular interest to the field of gravitational-wave interferometry where high mechanical quality

Polarization‐Sensitive Au‐TiO2 Nanopillars for Tailored Plasmonic Enhanced Light‐Driven Reaction Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Manipulating the product generation yield is achieved on a model plasmonic resonance‐driven reaction by tuning the nonthermal effects of localized surface plasmonic resonance on an elliptical Au‐TiO2 nanopillar metasurface. Asymmetric configuration of the elliptical nanopillar array governs the polarization‐dependent optical properties redshifting the ...

Confocal Fabry–Perot sensor

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1982
The use of a spherical mirror Fabry–Perot (confocal) interferometer as an optical displacement sensor is described. The device incorporates a simple electronic servo to maintain the interferometer at an operating point of maximum sensitivity. Applications as vibration and acceleration sensors are forseen, with sensitivities for sinusoidal accelerations

Refractive-index-modified-dot Fabry-Perot fiber probe fabricated by femtosecond laser for high-temperature sensing.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
An optical fiber Fabry-Perot probe sensor for high-temperature measurement is proposed and demonstrated, which is fabricated by inducing a refractive-index-modified-dot (RIMD) in the fiber core near the end of a standard single mode fiber (SMF) using a ...

Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create
