Utilizing TiC Cermet in Face-Milling
A higher production rate of face-milling will be realized if a more abrasion resistant but less tough tool material can be used without breakage. For this purpose, titanium carbide cermet tool material is studied for utilization in steel face-milling. The main problem is to provide the effective land and the proper rake angle to the cutting edge.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Recurrence Quantification Analysis (RQA) of Toroidal End Tool Milling Process
One type of milling process is the face milling of flat surfaces using a toroidal face cutter. A key feature of this process is that changes in the depth of the cut alter the entering angle, impacting milling dynamics by shifting cutting force ...

Surface Roughness Modelling in Face Milling
AbstractThe ability to plan the quality of surfaces is very important in manufacturing due to the fulfillment of requirements for parts machined by different methods. A method and a modelling procedure are introduced in the paper based on the definition of the relations between the calculated theoretical and the measured real roughness values of ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

KINEMATIC SCHEMES OF CUTTING IN MILLING [PDF]
The presented article analyzes the used kinematic schemes of cutting in milling. With their change and the change in the kinematic ratio of the velocities of the elementary movements, the type of the work surface can be changed.
