Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

BIM‐Based Urban Building Facility Information Management System

open access: yesEngineering Reports
Traditional facility management in the construction industry faces critical challenges, including fragmented lifecycle data, inefficient manual operations, and disconnection between design, construction, and operation phases, which severely hinder data ...

Cloud interaction technologies in the design and construction

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
One of the problems that can arise in the way of successful implementation of construction projects is the separation and inadequate interaction between the participants in the process in the design and construction of the facility.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Corrosion behaviour of steel rebars embedded in a concrete designed for the construction of an intermediate-level radioactive waste disposal facility

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
The National Atomic Energy Commission of the Argentine Republic is developing a nuclear waste disposal management programme that contemplates the design and construction of a facility for the final disposal of intermediate-level radioactive wastes.

An Approach to the Commercial Production of Highly Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2016
To meet the requirements for production of highly active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) new approaches and technical solutions are required. Prior to the design and construction of a new multipurpose manufacturing facility, a process study was

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Sanitary Design and Construction of Food Processing and Handling Facilities

open access: yesEDIS, 2005
To ensure safe food and adequate sanitation programs, the facility and surroundings in which food processing and handling operations are conducted must be designed and constructed with sanitary design principles in mind.
