Suicide among youth and young adults in Canada: bereaved parents’ perspectives on the systems of care

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mental Health Systems
Background Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth and young adults aged 15–24 in Canada. Emergency departments often serve as the first point of contact for identifying suicide risk, particularly for youth and young adults, partly due ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Activation of cellular antioxidative stress and migration activities by purified components from immortalized stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth

open access: yesScientific Reports
Although stem cell-based regenerative medicine has been extensively studied, it remains difficult to reconstruct three dimensional tissues and organs in combination with vascular systems in vitro.

Evaluating Research Activity:Impact Factor vs. Research Factor [PDF]

open access: yes
The Impact Factor (IF) “has moved ... from an obscure bibliometric indicator to become the chief quantitative measure of the quality of a journal, its research papers, the researchers who wrote those papers, and even the institution they work in” ([2], p.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Factor saving innovations and factor income shares [PDF]

open access: yes
We present an endogenous growth model where innovation are factor saving. Tecnologies can be changed paying a cost so, tecnological change take place only if the benefits are larger than the cost.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by
