AbstractThis report describes three patients with factor (F) VII deficiency: two adult siblings and an unrelated 5½‐month‐old child who succumbed after several central nervous system (CNS) hemorrhages. This event prompted a review of the literature concerning the incidence and characteristics of intracranial hemorrhage in congenital F VII deficiency.Of

The American Journal of Medicine, 1980
Factor VII inhibitor activity was identified in a 66 year old man with probable bronchogenic carcinoma. Initial studies indicated a normal partial thromboplastin time (PTT) and a prothrombin time (PT) prolongation which increased with incubation. PT correction failed to occur with 50 per cent normal plasma in vitro and 2 U of fresh frozen plasma in ...

Factor VII Survival Studies in Factor VII Padua Abnormality
Acta Haematologica, 1980Two patients with factor VII Padua abnormality were studied during prophylactic administration of factor VII concentrates for tooth extractions. The amounts administered were 15.8 and 17.2 units/kg body weight in 30 and 20 min, respectively. The end infusion factor VII activity levels were 55 and 64%, respectively.

Congenital factor VII deficiency
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1971Summary A case of factor VII deficiency in a PuertoRican boy is described. He presented with epistaxis as the only symptom. The importance of early diagnosis of the defect is stressed. Identification of heterozygous carriers is also of importance because these persons, for unknown reasons, might present with hemorrhagic diathesis.

How to Measure Factor VII and Factor VII Activation
Pathophysiology of Haemostasis and Thrombosis, 1983This communication describes the different techniques that can be used to evaluate the activity state of factor VII in plasma samples. At the present time direct methods for quantitation of activated factor VII (factor α-VIIa) are not available. Combined methods are therefore used to measure the degree of factor VII activation.

Congenital factor VII deficiency
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2004A 1(1/2)-month-old baby with seizures, lethargy and refusal of feeds was diagnosed to have intracranial hemorrhage due to factor VII deficiency. MRI also demonstrated the unusual presence of a hemorrhagic infarct. The case underscores the importance of carrying out neuroimaging and appropriate hematological studies even in the absence of obvious ...

Clinical phenotypes and factor VII genotype in congenital factor VII deficiency
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2005SummaryTo investigate the relationship between clinical phenotype, clotting activity (FVIIc) and FVII genotype, a multi-center study of factor VII (FVII) congenital deficiency with centralized genotyping and specific functional assays was carried out. FVII mutations characterized in patients (n=313) were extremely heterogeneous (103 different, 22 novel)

To improve the standardization of the factor VII clotting activity (FVII:C) assay in patients treated with recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa), we conducted a multicentre study on plasma samples from four patients with haemophilia A, before and at various times after injection of a single dose of rFVIIa.
