ABSTRACT Background Gamma‐glutamyltransferase (GGT) is a membrane‐bound enzyme involved in glutathione metabolism and oxidative stress regulation. Although it is traditionally viewed as a liver function marker, emerging evidence suggests that its aberrant expression is closely associated with tumorigenesis, progression, and therapeutic resistance ...

Factor IXa, a serine protease of blood coagulation, functions at least 100,000 times more efficiently when bound to factor VIIIa on a phospholipid membrane than when free in solution. We have utilized the catalytic activity of the factor VIIIa-factor IXa

Crystal Structure of Human Factor VIII: Implications for the Formation of the Factor IXa-Factor VIIIa Complex [PDF]
Factor VIII is a procofactor that plays a critical role in blood coagulation, and is missing or defective in hemophilia A. We determined the X-ray crystal structure of B domain-deleted human factor VIII. This protein is composed of five globular domains and contains one Ca(2+) and two Cu(2+) ions.

Polyethylene glycol‐23 glyceryl distearate (GDS‐23) forms niosomes and penetrates the skin. Our results suggest that the pharmacological effects following dermal penetration of GDS‐23 may enhance skin homeostasis by improving barrier function and moisture retention.

Sedimentological and geochemical characteristics are used to reconstruct sedimentation dynamics and erosional processes. Several rapidly deposited layers are characterised over changing depositional environments during the Late Holocene, from a phase when the lake was connected to the sea to a more stable state conducive to varve formation.

On the Synthesis and Reactivity of Potassium Phosphinophosphido Dithioformates
Sterically hindered potassium phosphinophosphido dithioformates K[TerP(CS2)PR2] (R = iPr, tBu) are synthesized from the conversion of the potassium phosphinophosphides K[TerP–PR2] with CS2. In solution, the dithioformate species rearrange to anionic phosphanylthioketones K[TerPC(=S)–P(S)R2].

Cytology and Differential Diagnosis of Canine Spindle Cell Lipoma
A slowly growing large mass in the gluteal area was present in the gluteal area. Fine needle aspiration was performed, and special stains (oil red) were used. First cytological description of a spindle cell lipoma (confirmed by histopathology). ABSTRACT Benign lipomatous tumours in dogs included the very common lipoma and its rare variants, such as ...
