Radio and X-ray observations during the outburst decay of the Black Hole Candidate XTE J1908+094

open access: yes, 2004
Obtaining simultaneous radio and X-ray data during the outburst decay of soft X-ray transients is a potentially important tool to study the disc - jet connection.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

On AdS_5 x S^5 String S-matrix

open access: yes, 2006
Recently two interesting conjectures about the string S-matrix on AdS_5 x S^5 have been made. First, assuming the existence of a Hopf algebra symmetry Janik derived a functional equation for the dressing factor of the quantum string Bethe ansatz. Second,

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

PROPHYLAXIS FOR INHERITED DEFICIENCY OF FACTOR X (PROTECT-X): A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

open access: yesHematology, Transfusion and Cell Therapy
Introduction: Hereditary factor X (FX) deficiency (FXD) is a rare autosomal recessive bleeding disorder. The reduced or absent plasma FX clotting activity leads to spontaneous hemorrhages or bleeds after minor trauma. FXD severity varies among mild (FX 6%

Phenomenology of IR-renormalons in inclusive processes

open access: yes, 1997
We have compared the existing experimental data on the leading power corrections to the structure functions $F_2(x,Q^2), F_3(x,Q^2)$, and $F_L(x,Q^2)$ with the IR-renormalon model predictions for higher-twist contributions.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
