Lower bounds for some factorable matrices [PDF]
We determine the lower bounds for classes of Rhaly matrices, considered as bounded linear operators on ℓ p . We improve on and provide correct proofs of the results of the first author (1990).

Factorable matrices and their associated Riesz matrices; pp. 379–386 [PDF]
A factorable matrix is a natural generalization of a Riesz matrix. When considering the properties of factorable matrices, many authors have used methods similar to the methods for Riesz matrices.

Factorability of lossless time-varying filters and filter banks [PDF]
We study the factorability of linear time-varying (LTV) lossless filters and filter banks. We give a complete characterization of all, degree-one lossless LTV systems and show that all degree-one lossless systems can be decomposed into a time-dependent ...

Factorization of unitary matrices [PDF]
Factorization of an $n\times n$ unitary matrix as a product of $n$ diagonal matrices containing only phases interlaced with $n-1$ orthogonal matrices each one generated by a real vector as well as an explicit form for the Weyl factorization are found.

Kraus representation for density operator of arbitrary open qubit system [PDF]
We show that the time evolution of density operator of open qubit system can always be described in terms of the Kraus representation. A general scheme on how to construct the Kraus operators for an open qubit system is proposed, which can be generalized

FACTORIZATION OF TROPICAL MATRICES [PDF]
In contrast to the situation in classical linear algebra, not every tropically non-singular matrix can be factored into a product of tropical elementary matrices. We do prove the factorizability of any tropically non-singular 2 × 2 matrix and, relating to the existing Bruhat decomposition, determine which 3 × 3 matrices are factorizable.

Weak measurements with orbital angular momentum pointer states [PDF]
Weak measurements are a unique tool for accessing information about weakly interacting quantum systems with minimal back action. Joint weak measurements of single-particle operators with pointer states characterized by a two-dimensional Gaussian ...

Multiplying and Factoring Matrices [PDF]
All of us learn and teach matrix multiplication using rows times columns. Those inner products are the entries of AB.

Factorizations of nonnegative matrices [PDF]
Suppose A is an n-square matrix over the real numbers such that all principal minors are nonzero. If A is nonnegative, then necessary and sufficient conditions are determined for A to be factored into a product L-U, where L is a lower triangular nonnegative matrix and U is an upper triangular nonnegative matrix with ui, = 1.
