Factual database system "ChemSource".
Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1998 科学技術振興事業団は，平成9年8月よりファクトデータベースシステム“ChemSource”のインターネット提供を開始した。このシステムは“JOIS-F”システムより継承した「熱物性データベース」，「結晶構造データベース」，「質量スペクトルデータベース」を搭載しており，インターネットならではのGUI検索や，Javaによる高度なグラフィック表示を実現しているが，現在無料での提供が行われており，特別な登録手続き無しに利用できる。本稿はとくにその利用法を中心に，システムを紹介するものである。

Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1988 JICSTファクトデータベースシステムの一部としてオンラインサービスが開始されたJICST熱物性データベースの概要, 特徴, 使用法について述べた。本システムでは，60種以上の熱物理学・熱化学的性質に関するデータを蓄積することができる。データ収集対象は, 元素, 無機および低分子有機化合物の純物質系, これらの物質からなる2, 3成分系である。システムの機能としては, 有効数字を意識した浮動小数点データの取り扱い, 多面的・多様な検索のサポート, 他データベースとの渡り検索等に工夫をこらしている。このシステムの実際の使用例, 使用上の注意点についても記述した。

Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1990 1990年3月よりJOIS-Fの新しいデータベースとしてJICST/NRIM金属材料強度データベースのサービスが開始された。本データベースは, 日本科学技術情報センターと科学技術庁金属材料技術研究所による共同研究を基に開発されたもので, 構造用材料を中心とした金属材料の強度特性データ(クリープ, 疲労特性等)を蓄積し, オンラインによる検索・回答および統計解析とその結果のグラフィック表示を可能にしたものである。本データベースの内容について, 蓄積されたデータとシステムの両面から概説した。

Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1998 近年のコンピュータ技術の進歩に伴い，コンピュータネットワークが研究者にとってのもう一つの研究環境となりつつある。生命科学の分野でも，研究情報資源であるファクトDBの研究情報ネットワーク上での構築へのニーズが大きくなっている。しかし，大規模で体系化されたファクトDBの整備はまだまだ十分ではなく，これからさらなるファクトデータの体系化が行われ整備されていく状況である。本稿では既存の生命科学分野のファクトDBを例に取り，データの集積・体系化・公開について紹介した。

Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1997 ファクトデータベースの著作権に関する以下の問題を，具体的事例に基づき論じた：（1）数値，用語，テキスト，図表，画像等の情報要素が著作物性を持ち得るか，（2）一次著作物からファクトデータベースに取り入れられた情報に，一次著作権者と二次著作権者の権利はどう及ぶか，（3）ファクトデータベースにおける情報の選択または体系的構成が著作物性を持つための要件は何か，（4）他のデータベースの構成を借用したデータベースに著作物性はあるか。著作権法で保護される対象はアイディアでなく表現であるという原則が，データベースのような実務的著作物の保護を考えるとき矛盾をもたらすことを指摘した。
