Yet, media coverage was not always positive, reflecting the media's attention‐seeking and selective focus. Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1998 科学技術振興事業団は，平成9年8月よりファクトデータベースシステム“ChemSource”のインターネット提供を開始した。このシステムは“JOIS-F”システムより継承した「熱物性データベース」，「結晶構造データベース」，「質量スペクトルデータベース」を搭載しており，インターネットならではのGUI検索や，Javaによる高度なグラフィック表示を実現しているが，現在無料での提供が行われており，特別な登録手続き無しに利用できる。本稿はとくにその利用法を中心に，システムを紹介するものである。
