Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

Targeted metabolomics reveals novel diagnostic biomarkers for colorectal cancer
This study employed targeted metabolomic profiling to identify 302 distinct metabolites present in platelet‐rich plasma (PRP), revealing aberrant metabolic profiles amongst individuals diagnosed with colorectal cancer (CRC). Compared to carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigen 19‐9 (CA199), our metabolite panel showed improved sensitivity ...

Closed-Form Coverage Probability for Downlink Poisson Network with Double Shadowed Fading [PDF]
Performances of cellular networks over {\kappa}-{\mu} shadowed fading with long-term shadowing has been studied in the existing literature. However, the impact of {\kappa}-{\mu} shadowed fading with instantaneous shadowing on performances of cellular networks is unknown.

FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation drives granulosa cell tumors. Using CRISPR technology, we selectively corrected this mutation, reducing malignancy and increasing sensitivity to dasatinib and ketoconazole. Transcriptomic changes revealed potential therapeutic targets, demonstrating CRISPR's promise for treating this rare ovarian cancer.

On the Fading Number of Multiple-Input Single-Output Fading Channels with Memory [PDF]
We derive new upper and lower bounds on the fading number of multiple-input single-output (MISO) fading channels of general (not necessarily Gaussian) regular law with spatial and temporal memory. The fading number is the second term, after the double-logarithmic term, of the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) expansion of channel capacity.

NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Near-Optimal Efficient MIMO Receiver for Miniature UAV-IoT Communications
This article proposes a novel Direct Detection (DD) scheme for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications where tedious, slow, and computationally demanding channel state information (CSI) estimation and detection ...

Cooperative Spectrum Sensing over Generalized Fading Channels Based on Energy Detection [PDF]
This paper analyzes the unified performance of energy detection (ED) of spectrum sensing (SS) over generalized fading channels in cognitive radio (CR) networks. The detective performance of SS schemes will be obviously affected by fading channel between communication nodes, and ED has the advantages of fast implementation, no requirement of priori ...

The fluctuating two-ray fading model: exact and approximate statistical characterization [PDF]
El congreso en el que se ha presentado este artículo no genera libro de actas, por lo que el copyright no se ha transferido a IEEE.We introduce the Fluctuating Two-Ray (FTR) fading model, a new statistical channel model that consists of two fluctuating ...

Stochastic variation in the FOXM1 transcription program mediates replication stress tolerance
Cellular heterogeneity is a major cause of drug resistance in cancer. Segeren et al. used single‐cell transcriptomics to investigate gene expression events that correlate with sensitivity to the DNA‐damaging drugs gemcitabine and prexasertib. They show that dampened expression of transcription factor FOXM1 and its target genes protected cells against ...
