Failure Probability Under Parameter Uncertainty [PDF]
In many problems of risk analysis, failure is equivalent to the event of a random risk factor exceeding a given threshold. Failure probabilities can be controlled if a decisionmaker is able to set the threshold at an appropriate level. This abstract situation applies, for example, to environmental risks with infrastructure controls; to supply chain ...

The Decoding Failure Probability of MDPC Codes [PDF]
Moderate Density Parity Check (MDPC) codes are defined here as codes which have a parity-check matrix whose row weight is $O(\sqrt{n})$ where $n$ is the length $n$ of the code. They can be decoded like LDPC codes but they decode much less errors than LDPC codes: the number of errors they can decode in this case is of order $Θ(\sqrt{n})$.

On the failure probability of pipings [PDF]
Abstract Various methods for determining the structural reliability analysis of piping systems of NPP's are discussed in view of their accuracy, efficiency and possibility of practical application. Ultimate load as well as fatigue failure modes are considered in the analysis. The time variant reliability problem, e.g.
