Faithful Uniformly Continuous Representations of Lie Groups [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, 1994
Let \(G\) be a connected Lie group. The main result is the equivalence between the following 5 statements: (i) \(G\) is linear, i.e. \(G\) embeds continuously into \(GL_ n(\mathbb{C})\) for \(n\) big enough; (ii) the continuous algebra seminorms separate the points of \({\mathcal E}'(G)\) (the convolution algebra of compactly supported distributions on

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

ANALISIS PERBEDAAN RELEVANSI NILAI DAN ASIMETRI INFORMASI SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH KONVERGENSI IFRS PADA PERUSAHAAN MANUFAKTUR DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA

open access: yesJurnal Akuntansi Kontemporer, 2020
IFRS is an international standard which has two main characteristics, namely fair value and principle based. The use of fair value resulted in financial report’s relevance, which resulting any differences in the value relevance of accounting information.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

L’organisation du culte musulman : un regard de praticien administratif

open access: yesRevue du Droit des Religions, 2018
Since 1989, the public authorities have been encouraging Muslim religious leaders to supervise the practice of their religion. However, the institutional representation of the Islam of France remains unstable and misrecognized by the faithful, and the ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
