Diagnostic capabilities of non-treponemal and treponemal reactions in the early forms of syphilis.

open access: yesMedičnì Perspektivi, 2017
A comparative analysis of the sensitivity and specificity of immunoblotting against other non-treponemal and treponemal reactions was carried out in 215 patients with early forms of syphilis.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

EFFECTIVENESS OF TUBERCULOUS RECOMBINANT ALLERGEN SKIN TESTS FOR DETECTING TUBERCULOSIS IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS OF MOSCOW IN 2013

open access: yesПедиатрическая фармакология, 2015
Explanation. Mantoux test is used to detect the tuberculous infection; however, low specificity of this method results in a high rate of false positive responses due to cross-reactions of PPD (protein purified derivate) antigens contained in many ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES FOR ANTIBODY DETERMINATION AND TESTING OF ANTIGEN-BINDING LYMPHOCYTES IN DIAGNOSTICS OF BRUCELLOSIS

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
. The aim of this study was to compare the efficiency of different methods applied for the diagnostics of brucellosis. Huddlson and Wright reactions, RoseBengal test, ELISA-based test system (IgG determination), and a test for antigen-binding lymphocytes

Weight of evidence approach using a TK gene mutation assay with human TK6 cells for follow-up of positive results in Ames tests: a collaborative study by MMS/JEMS

open access: yesGenes and Environment, 2021
Background Conflicting results between bacterial mutagenicity tests (the Ames test) and mammalian carcinogenicity tests might be due to species differences in metabolism, genome structure, and DNA repair systems. Mutagenicity assays using human cells are

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
