Analysis of light scattering off photonic crystal slabs in terms of Feshbach resonances

open access: yes, 2012
Techniques to deal with Feshbach resonances are applied to describe resonant light scattering off one dimensional photonic crystal slabs. Accurate expressions for scattering amplitudes, free of any fitting parameter, are obtained for isolated as well as ...

On the Modeling of Irreversibility by Relaxator Liouville Dynamics

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 2, February 2026.
A general approach to modeling irreversibility starting from microscopic reversibility is presented. A relaxator that breaks reversibility condenses in the Liouville operator of the relevant degrees of freedom. The irreversible relaxator Liouville equation contains memory effects and initial correlations of all degrees of freedom. Stationary states are

High Q-factor multiple Fano resonances for high-sensitivity sensing in all-dielectric metamaterials

open access: yesOSA Continuum, 2019
We design and numerically investigate the high Q-factor, high modulation depth, and multiple Fano resonances based on a periodical all-dielectric asymmetric nanorod dimer in the near-infrared regime.

Quantum Theory of Surface Lattice Resonances

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 3, 12 February 2026.
ABSTRACT The collective interactions of nanoparticles arranged in periodic structures give rise to high‐Q $Q$ in‐plane diffractive modes known as surface lattice resonances. Although these resonances and their broader implications have been extensively studied within the framework of classical electrodynamics and linear response theory, a quantum ...

Narrow Fano resonances in Si nanocylinder metasurfaces: Refractive index sensing

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2019
All dielectric metasurfaces are attracting great attention for their potential to control light reflection and transmission at the nanoscale. Here, we make use of a coupled electric/magnetic dipole formulation for a periodic array of high-refractive ...

Influence of Fano resonance on SERS enhancement in Fano-plasmonic oligomers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
Plasmonic oligomers can provide profound Fano resonance in their scattering responses. The sub-radiant mode of Fano resonance can result in significant near-field enhancement due to its light trapping capability into the so-called hotspots. Appearance of these highly localized hotspots at the excitation and/or Stokes wavelengths of the analytes makes ...
