Kinetics of inorganic and organic P release from red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) upon frost or drying

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Scandinavica. Section B, Soil and Plant Science, 2017
An incubation study with fresh, frozen, and dried clover and rye-grass shoots gathered in autumn was performed in the laboratory (43 days). The aim was to study inorganic and organic phosphorus (P) release from plant material during decomposition without

Eco‐Geography Reverses Dominant AMR Reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae: Integron‐Rich Mobilomes and Cross‐Niche Connectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dominant antimicrobial resistance reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae vary across eco‐geographic settings rather than following a universal pattern. Integrated One Health and global genomic analyses show that lineage structure, integron load, and cross‐niche connectivity shape whether AMR burden accumulates primarily in human or nonhuman compartments ...

The Jeffrey Town Model for Community Development

open access: yesJournal of Learning for Development, 2014
: The Jeffrey Town model for community development has been effectively applied to the rural community of Jeffrey Town in Jamaica with ICT as a key element. The farmers association is the vehicle that has driven the change. Included is  a brief outline

Horticultural crops and climate change: A review

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2017
If agriculture is the main stay towards the emission of greenhouse gases induced climate change, horticultural crops have a much bigger role to play in countering the negative consequences of climate change by providing a better carbon trade and carbon ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Conditions for the adoption of agro-ecological farming practices: a holistic framework illustrated with the case of almond farming in Andalusia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agricultural Sustainability, 2018
Agricultural landscapes offer unique habitats for many species. Because agriculture is a major land use worldwide, changes in farming practices can have major repercussions for biodiversity.

A Disaggregation Strategy for Nanopesticide Fabrication: Investigating the Impact of Nanosizing on Pesticide Biointeractions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To explore the impact of nanosizing on pesticide biointeractions, a 7‐nm (average) emamectin benzoate nanopesticide without nanocarriers or surfactants is fabricated via HOAc‐mediated disaggregation. Nanosizing enhances bioactivity against Megalurothrips usitatus and Meloidogyne enterolobii and improves plant penetration.

The Spatiotemporal Genetic Architecture of Seed Vigor in Upland Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Leveraging the semi‐automated SeedRanger platform, we profiled the germination kinetics of 356 cotton accessions at a 30‐min interval. This high‐throughput phenomic approach delineated a temporal genetic network comprising 541 stage‐specific loci. Crucially, functional validation identified FLA2 as a pivotal, auxin‐modulated regulator that orchestrates
