Ecological and Evolutionary Predictors of Dorsal Colouration in Lagomorphs
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the extent to which dorsal body colouration in lagomorphs follows ecogeographical patterns, particularly Gloger's rule, by assessing the relative influence of climate, forest vertical structure, and phylogenetic relatedness on eumelanin‐ and pheomelanin‐based pigmentation. Location Global. Time Period Contemporary.

Abstract We report the first oxygen isotope measurements of tochilinite (δ17O: 11.0 ± 2.1‰, δ18O: 23.5 ± 4.0‰ and Δ17O: −1.1 ± 1.2‰) in a CM chondrite (Winchcombe, lithology C [CM2.2/2.3]). We analyzed type‐I tochilinite‐cronstedtite intergrowths (TCIs)—formed by pseudomorphic replacement of kamacite.

Assessing Diversity Scaling in Lung Cancer Microbiome Across Individuals and Tissue Types
Diversity scaling of human lung cancer microbiome was characterized from aspects community diversity, variation rates of diversity, similarity, and community proportions by a diversity–area relationship (DAR) model. DAR parameters of the lung cancer microbiome showed no significant differences across tissue types, indicating invariant diversity scaling

The use of prevalence as a measure of lice burden: a case study of Lepeophtheirus salmonis on Scottish Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar L., farms [PDF]
This study investigates the benefits of using prevalence as a summary measure of sea lice infestation on farmed Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar L. Aspects such as sampling effort, the relationship between abundance and prevalence arising from the negative ...

Long-term prevalence and predictors of prolonged grief disorder amongst bereaved cancer caregivers: A cohort study [PDF]
Context: The short-term impact of prolonged grief disorder (PGD) following bereavement is well documented. The longer term sequelae of PGD however are poorly understood, possibly unrecognized, and may be incorrectly attributed to other mental health ...

Summary When modelling the association between the ordinal categorical variables of a contingency table, ordinal log‐linear models are typically used; these models are a variation of the more popular log‐linear model, which has attracted considerable attention in the statistics and allied literature since the late 1960s. Estimating the parameters of an

Connecting Language Abilities and Social Competence in Children: A Meta‐Analytic Review
ABSTRACT Research examining relations between language skills and social competence has yielded mixed findings. Three meta‐analyses investigated links between language skills (overall, receptive, and expressive) and social competence in 2‐ to 12‐year‐old children.

This study investigates photoinduced electron transfer (PIET) within a multicopper oxidase by grafting a ruthenium‐polypyridyl photosensitizer onto different positions on its surface. We uncover alternative ET pathways to the enzyme's copper centers, in which the trinuclear cluster is photoreduced directly without first passing through the Type 1 ...
