Ecological and Evolutionary Predictors of Dorsal Colouration in Lagomorphs

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 52, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the extent to which dorsal body colouration in lagomorphs follows ecogeographical patterns, particularly Gloger's rule, by assessing the relative influence of climate, forest vertical structure, and phylogenetic relatedness on eumelanin‐ and pheomelanin‐based pigmentation. Location Global. Time Period Contemporary.

Isotopic analysis of tochilinite (carbonate and magnetite) in Winchcombe: Temperature constraints on early‐stage aqueous alteration in the CM parent body

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 60, Issue 10, Page 2359-2375, October 2025.
Abstract We report the first oxygen isotope measurements of tochilinite (δ17O: 11.0 ± 2.1‰, δ18O: 23.5 ± 4.0‰ and Δ17O: −1.1 ± 1.2‰) in a CM chondrite (Winchcombe, lithology C [CM2.2/2.3]). We analyzed type‐I tochilinite‐cronstedtite intergrowths (TCIs)—formed by pseudomorphic replacement of kamacite.

Assessing Diversity Scaling in Lung Cancer Microbiome Across Individuals and Tissue Types

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 4, August 2025.
Diversity scaling of human lung cancer microbiome was characterized from aspects community diversity, variation rates of diversity, similarity, and community proportions by a diversity–area relationship (DAR) model. DAR parameters of the lung cancer microbiome showed no significant differences across tissue types, indicating invariant diversity scaling

Combined Language and Code Emergent Literacy Intervention for At‐Risk Preschool Children: A Systematic Meta‐Analytic Review

open access: yesChild Development, Volume 96, Issue 4, Page 1519-1545, July/August 2025.
ABSTRACT This meta‐analytic review explored the characteristics and effectiveness of combined language (e.g., vocabulary) and code (e.g., phonological awareness) interventions, including synergistic intervention effects for at‐risk preschoolers. Data from 29 randomized controlled trials, published before March 2023, reporting on 43 interventions ...

Least‐squares estimators of the linear‐by‐linear association parameter from an ordinal log‐linear model

open access: yesAustralian &New Zealand Journal of Statistics, Volume 67, Issue 2, Page 137-156, June 2025.
Summary When modelling the association between the ordinal categorical variables of a contingency table, ordinal log‐linear models are typically used; these models are a variation of the more popular log‐linear model, which has attracted considerable attention in the statistics and allied literature since the late 1960s. Estimating the parameters of an

A single-institution study of concordance of pathological diagnoses for interstitial lung diseases between pre-transplantation surgical lung biopsies and lung explants

open access: yesBMC Pulmonary Medicine, 2019
Background By comparing diagnoses made by pre-transplant surgical lung biopsy (SLB) and the final pathologic diagnosis of the explanted pathology (EP), we aimed to study the factors that could impact pathologic diagnoses in patients with interstitial ...
