Research on the influence of different heat treatment methods on the performance of titanium alloy (TC4) fasteners

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The heat treatment of alloys directly determines their final properties. This research designed four differentiated heat treatment methods and systematically analysed the mechanical properties, microstructure and surface colour of the materials. Combined

Lateral Resistance Requirement of Girder-Sleeper Fastener for CWR Track on an Open-Deck Steel Plate Girder Bridge

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
For an open-deck steel plate girder railway bridge with rail joints, frequent damage to the bridge members and a high level of noise and vibration occur.

Use of probabilistic fastener velcro as a friction-induced vibration damping treatment

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Probabilistic fasteners are biologically inspired clamping devices that are interlocked by stems on each surface. Due to dynamic characteristics of fastening mechanism, friction inevitably occurs between stems in a vibrating environment.

Claudin‐6 Protein Expression in Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumors Is Strongly Enriched in the Molecular Subgroup AT/RT‐TYR

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Claudin‐6 has emerged as a promising immunotherapeutic target, yet protein‐level data in atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RTs) have been inconsistent. We analyzed 36 well‐characterized AT/RT samples and found membranous claudin‐6 protein expression in 58% of cases, with striking enrichment in the molecular subgroup AT/RT‐TYR (100%) and ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Parameters Influence of New Particle Damper-based Fastener on its Damping Ratio

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] Fastener stiffness and damping are important factors affecting rail system vibration and wheel-rail noise, especially the fastener damping can directly affects the high frequency attenuation rate of the rail structure (rail noise) and the ...

Infection Control Practices for Vascular Access Management in Hemodialysis: Results From a Nationwide Survey of Japanese National University Hospitals

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.

Mechanical and Deformation Response of WJ-8B Rail Fastener Under Cyclic Lateral Loading

open access: yesBuildings
The mechanical performance of rail fasteners plays a crucial role in the track–structure interaction of high-speed railways. A reasonable lateral stiffness of the fastener system can enhance the stability and safety of train operation and prevent ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
