Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Effect of Repetitive Collar Replacement on the Residual Strength and Fatigue Life of Retained Hi-Lok Fastener Pins

open access: yesMetals, 2019
Hi-Lok fasteners were subjected to multiple collar replacements, and were tested under static loading and constant-amplitude fatigue loading, to determine the effect of repetitive collar replacement on the residual strength and fatigue life of a retained

Synergistic effect of crevice corrosion and galvanic coupling on 304SS fasteners degradation in chloride environments

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation, 2023
The synergistic effect of crevice corrosion and galvanic coupling on the degradation of 304 stainless steel fasteners exposed to a chloride environment was investigated using electrochemical and surface analysis techniques. Results obtained revealed that

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Investigation Of Different Fasteners In Roof Truss Elements In The Woodworking Industry

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Forestry
In this study, the compressive safety stresses of the roof trusses were determined depending on the different joining angles (90° at the rafter, 90° at the base and bisector) at the connection points of the rafter and base elements used in traditional ...
