Spatially Controlled Embedded Bioprinting of Prevascularized Spheroids‐Containing Biopatch Enables Functional Skin Regeneration

Advanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A spatially controlled embedded bioprinting strategy enables precise engineering of prevascularized multicellular spheroids within skin‐derived dECM bioinks. Optimized spheroid size, composition, and spacing promote vascular maturation, paracrine signaling, and tissue integration, resulting in enhanced angiogenesis, blood perfusion, and functional skin

Self‐Healing Hydrogel‐Enabled Modular Assembly of Bilayered Skin Construct for Hair Follicle Regeneration

Advanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐healing assembly of two cell‐laden hydrogel layers creates a biomimetic skin construct that restores both dermal and epidermal functions, resulting in accelerated wound healing and enhanced hair follicle regeneration in a full‐thickness skin wound model. ABSTRACT Alopecia remains a pervasive clinical challenge, largely owing to the limited ability

Protein‐Polymer Dynamic Hydrogels Utilizing Native Ligand Binding for Injectable Therapeutic Delivery and 3D Printing

Advanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanocolloidal hydrogels were synthesized via the co‐assembly of ligand‐modified spheroidal hyperbranched poly(glycerol) (HPG) and soluble albumin nanoparticles (SANs). Co‐assembly occurred through self‐association of the HPG, as well as its interaction with SANs via native ligand binding.

An Antimicrobial, Cell‐Adhesive, and Growth Factor‐Producing Living Material Engineered From Bacillus subtilis Biofilms for Wound Healing

Advanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Bacillus subtilis is engineered to produce cell‐adhesive biofilms by functionalization of its biofilm scaffold protein TasA with a cell‐adhesion sequence. Living bacteria within the biofilm are also engineered to secrete growth factors and natively produce antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), resulting in a cell‐adhesive, antimicrobial, and growth factor ...

Atom‐Efficient Cerium‐Based Molecular Cages as Biocompatible Reactive Oxygen Scavengers

Advanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Discrete mixed‐valent cerium molecular cages organize accessible redox centers within confined coordination environments and scavenge superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, and hydroxyl radicals. Encapsulation of the lead cage in an ROS‐responsive DTP nanoplatform enables lesion‐associated delivery, attenuates macrophage oxidative stress and inflammation, and ...

Methanesulfonic Acid as a Dual‐Role Reagent for Porous Polymer Network Design

Advanced Materials, EarlyView.
The design of porous polymer networks (PPNs) using methanesulfonic acid (MSA) as a dual‐role reagent facilitates the synthesis of robust PPNs for specific applications. It also makes the scale‐up process techno‐economically feasible because MSA functions simultaneously as both a solvent and a catalyst for the reaction.
