Material Composition Design and Anticracking Performance Evaluation of Asphalt Rubber Stress-Absorbing Membrane Interlayer (AR-SAMI)

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
To promote the application of the asphalt rubber stress-absorbing membrane interlayer (AR-SAMI), the material composition design and the evaluation of antireflective cracking effect of AR-SAMI need to be studied. In this paper, conventional asphalt tests,

Fatigue crack growth and microscopic crack opening behavior in impact fatigue.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 1987
This paper describes the fatigue crack growth and crack opening behaviors in impact fatigue of two alloy steels; one is a high strength low alloy steel HT-60 and the other is an austenitic stainless steel SUS316. Both of the alloy steels have almost the same ultimate tensile strength of about 600MPa.

Investigating Nonlinear Fatigue Damage Evolution of SBS-Modified Asphalt Mixtures with Physical Gel Structure

open access: yesGels
Styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modifier can enhance the resistance of asphalt mixtures to load-induced deformation and fatigue cracking by constructing a three-dimensional physical gel network.

Causes of evolution and influence on failure strength of thermal crazing

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
Craze cracking is a typical cracking morphology caused by thermal fatigue loading; however, the reason for its cause by thermal fatigue loading is not fully understood. It is known that craze cracks do not grow deeply.

Premature fracture of high-strength suspension springs caused by corrosion fatigue cracking

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2022
In this work, the mechanisms responsible for the premature fatigue fracture of four suspension springs during road test were investigated. Failure analysis combined with finite element method (FEM) and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) experiments were ...

Effect of different types of fine aggregates on fatigue resistance and self-healing of fine aggregate asphalt matrices

open access: yesTransportes
Fatigue cracking is one of the most common types of distress in asphalt pavements. Each asphalt concrete (AC) constituent and its interactions are relevant to characterize the resistance to fatigue cracking of the ACs.
