Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

Crack growth rate prediction based on damage accumulation functions for creep-fatigue interaction
The present study is concerned with formulation of a model for the creep–fatigue crack growth rate prediction on the base of fracture damage zone concepts. It is supposed that crack growth rate can be determined by integration of damage accumulation rate

Model of flexural fatigue damage accumulation for cortical bone
AbstractAnalytical models that predict modulus degradation in cortical bone subjected to uniaxial fatigue loading in tension and compression are presented. On the basis of experimental observations, damage was modeled as self‐limiting for tension but not for compression.

ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Cumulative Damage and Life Prediction Models for High-Cycle Fatigue of Metals: A Review
Fatigue design of engineering structures is typically based on lifetime calculation using a cumulative damage law. The linear damage rule by Miner is the universal standard for fatigue design even though numerous experimental studies have shown its ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The Fatigue Damage Accumulation On Systems Of Concentrators
Fatigue tests of specimen-s with numerous holes are presented. The tests were made up till fatigue cracks have been created on both sides of the hole. Their extension was stopping with pressed plastic deformation at the mouth of the detected crack. It is shown that the moments of occurrence of cracks on holes are stochastically dependent.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Low-Cycle Fatigue Behavior of Single/Polycrystalline Iron
The fatigue plastic mechanism and dislocation characteristics of engineering materials are the key to studying fatigue damage. In this study, the molecular dynamics (MD) method was employed to investigate the microstructural characteristics and fatigue ...
