Model-Based Risk Assessment of Power Converters: Case Study of On-Board Battery System for Railway

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Industry Applications
On-board energy storage systems for railway traction are becoming a clear trend for many new rail projects, both for retrofit and new designs. This has raised safety and reliability concerns in railway industry given the novelty of the technology ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

An adaptive envelope analysis in a wireless sensor network for bearing fault diagnosis using fast kurtogram algorithm

open access: yes, 2014
This paper proposes a scheme to improve the performance of applying envelope analysis in a wireless sensor network for bearing fault diagnosis. The fast kurtogram is realized on the host computer for determining an optimum band-pass filter for the ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Segmentation of the Sumatran fault

open access: yes, 2014
Segmentation of the Sumatran fault is discerned using an analytical approach in which a k-means algorithm partitions earthquakes into clusters of seismicity along the fault.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

On parametric solution of fault detection problems

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss the solution of the fault detection problem in presence of parametric uncertainties. The basic approach is an extension of the nullspace method for constant systems to the case of linear parameter varying (LPV) models.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Fault Detection of Reciprocating Compressors using a Model from Principles Component Analysis of Vibrations

open access: yes, 2012
Traditional vibration monitoring techniques have found it difficult to determine a set of effective diagnostic features due to the high complexity of the vibration signals originating from the many different impact sources and wide ranges of practical ...
