Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Service restoration strategy for active distribution networks considering source-load uncertainty
Active distribution networks (ADNs) incorporate numerous distributed generations (DGs) and energy storage systems. When sudden faults occur in the system, service restoration can be enhanced through microgrid formation and network reconfiguration ...

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Measurement-free topological protection using dissipative feedback [PDF]
Protecting quantum information from decoherence due to environmental noise is vital for fault-tolerant quantum computation. To this end, standard quantum error correction employs parallel projective measurements of individual particles, which makes the ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Advanced control strategy for wind-storage to compensate hammer effect based on SID and FRR
To address the seasonal variations in frequency regulation requirements (FRRs) for a hybrid renewable hydropower system, this study proposes an advanced wind-storage coordinated control strategy to compensate for the water hammer effect, based on system ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Improved protection system for phase faults on marine vessels based on ratio between negative-sequence and positive-sequence of the fault current [PDF]
This paper presents a new method to protect the radial feeders on marine vessels. The proposed protection method is effective against Phase-Phase (PP) faults and is based on evaluation of the ratio between the negative-sequence and positive-sequence of ...
