Distribution systems fault analysis considering fault resistance estimation
Abstract Fault resistance is a critical component of electric power systems operation due to its stochastic nature. If not considered, this parameter may interfere in fault analysis studies. This paper presents an iterative fault analysis algorithm for unbalanced three-phase distribution systems that considers a fault resistance estimate.

Impact of fault resistance and fault distance on fault current reduction ratio of hybrid SFCL
Summary Superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs), as the novel power system devices, have attracted attentions in the last years. However, in order to achieve the maximum benefit from SFCLs, their interaction with power system should be comprehensively evaluated before equipping the power system with them.

Coordination of adaptive distance protection in transmission and wind farm collector lines under resistive fault conditions [PDF]
Distance relays calculate the path impedance between the fault point and the relay location by sampling the voltage and current at the relay location. By using the ratio of the impedance estimated by the relay to the impedance of the line where the relay

A TSV Test Method for Resistive Open Fault and Leakage Fault Coexisting [PDF]
Large-size TSVs have larger parasitic capacitance, which leads to more resolution challenges. At the same time, due to the opposite fault effect of resistive open fault and leakage fault in the ring oscillator, the coexistence of two types of faults will cause serious test confusion. These problems significantly increase the difficulty in the TSV test.

DC Fault Identification in Multiterminal HVDC Systems Based on Reactor Voltage Gradient
With the increasing number of renewable generations, the prospects of long-distance bulk power transmission impels the expansion of point-to-point High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) grid to an emerging Multi-terminal high-voltage Direct Current (MTDC ...

The use of phase voltage modules to select the damaged phase in case of single-phase earth faults
In case of short circuits, the selection of damaged phases always precedes the determination of the damage location. To select the damaged phase, filter selector of the damaged phase are widely used, using symmetrical components of phase currents.

Blinded Fault Resistant Exponentiation [PDF]
As the core operation of many public key cryptosystems, group exponentiation is central to cryptography. Attacks on its implementation in embedded device setting is hence of great concern. Recently, implementations resisting both simple side-channel analysis and fault attacks were proposed.
