800nm FBG sensing interrogation system based on tilted FBG

Optoelectronics Letters, 2007
An 800 nm band fiber Bragg grating sensing interrogation system using tilted FBG as the core wavelength division component is presented. A charge coupled device (CCD) linear array is put on the focal plane of the lens to detect the light. TFBG is used to tap light out of the fiber core to fiber cladding.

Monitoring the regeneration process of a UV-inscribed FBG using IR femtosecond FBG

Optica Advanced Photonics Congress 2022, 2022
We show the possibility of using a femtosecond IR point-by-point inscribed grating as a probe to monitor the regeneration process of a UV-inscribed grating.

Tilt sensor with FBG technology and matched FBG demodulating method

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2006
A tilt measurement structure and signal detection method is proposed based on a self-demodulated fiber-Bragg grating (FBG) sensor, which consists of a couple of matched FBGs and a cantilever-based pendulum clinometer. Compared by the typical matched FBGs demodulating method, of which a sensing FBG and a demodulating filter FBG is placed separately ...

Interrogation of FBGs and FBGs Arrays Using Standard Telecom DFB Diode

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2016
An efficient fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor integration system, which utilizes a small number of standard Telecom opto-electronics components, is presented in this paper. Wavelength-swept optical pulses were generated by driving a standard telecom DFB laser diode by high amplitude (>3 A) and short duration (300 ns) current pulses. A total laser diode'

The FBG Stream Cipher

2007 National Radio Science Conference, 2007
In this paper we propose a new synchronous stream cipher; the FBG stream cipher. This cipher is based on FBG (fuzzy bit generator) PN bit generator. The FBG cipher has been designed to produce keystream with guaranteed randomness properties; i.e. passing all the 16 tests of the NIST statistical test suite.

Sensitivity improvement of reflective tilted FBGs

Applied Optics, 2016
Tilted fiber Bragg gratings are used as energy couplers in which the core mode and cladding modes can be coupled together. Cladding modes have extensive importance in sensing applications due to their sensitive characteristics to the surrounding refractive index.

Novel FBG triangular filter for interrogating a FBG sensor in dynamic strain measurement

Optoelectronics Letters, 2006
We demonstrate the fabrication and the application of an in-fiber triangular filter (T-filter) based on a linearly chirped and apodized fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The theoretical analysis shows that this type of FBG T-filter has a good response in the demodulation of a wavelength-matched FBG sensor.

An optoelectronic oscillator using an FBG and an FBG-based Fabry–Perot filter

Optics Communications, 2015
Abstract An optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) with a new structure is presented, which uses a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and an FBG-based Fabry–Perot (F–P) filter as mode selectors. The phase noise of the OEO is measured down to −104 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. The OEO with an F–P filter instead of a RF filter has a long-term stability.

FBG tread wear detecting lines

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
FBG strain sensing technology is used to dynamically detect tread wear of railway train wheels. Dozens of FBG track strain sensors are installed as lines along railway tracks in crosstie sections. Train wheels one by one roll on the track and load the sensors, groups of strain peak are taken.
