An enhanced universal gripper combining rigid mechanics with self‐adaptable fingers is presented for industrial automation. The novel six‐bar linkage with integrated compliant pad eliminates mechanical interference while enabling passive shape adaptation.

Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

Cross‐Scale Hierarchical Targeted Delivery System Based on Small‐Scale Magnetic Robots
This article reviews a cross‐scale hierarchical targeted delivery system that integrates magnetic continuum robots and magnetic microrobots. By combining rapid long‐range navigation with precise microscale targeting, the system overcomes key limitations of single‐scale approaches.

The learning of fear extinction
Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, 2014Recent work on the extinction of fear-motivated learning places emphasis on its putative circuitry and on its modulation. Extinction is the learned inhibition of retrieval of previously acquired responses. Fear extinction is used as a major component of exposure therapy in the treatment of fear memories such as those of the posttraumatic stress ...

Chemical Transfer of Learned Fear
Nature, 1968RESULTS reported earlier1–5 have suggested that acquired information can be transmitted to naive animals by giving them material extracted from the brain of trained subjects. In most of these experiments, as in others6–11, transfer of information was suggested by varying degrees of statistical probability and it was challenged by negative results ...

Puberty drives fear learning during adolescence
Developmental Science, 2020AbstractRisk for adverse outcomes, including the onset of mental illness, increases during adolescence. This increase may be linked to both new exposures, such as violence at home or in the community, or to physiological changes driven by puberty.

Fears, phobias, and preparedness: Toward an evolved module of fear and fear learning.
Psychological Review, 2001An evolved module for fear elicitation and fear learning with 4 characteristics is proposed. (a) The fear module is preferentially activated in aversive contexts by stimuli that are fear relevant in an evolutionary perspective. (b) Its activation to such stimuli is automatic. (c) It is relatively impenetrable to cognitive control.

Facilitation of fear learning by prior and subsequent fear conditioning
Behavioural Brain Research, 2018Classical fear conditioning is perhaps the premier model system used to study the neurobiological basis of memory formation. Prior work has resulted in a good understanding of both the molecular mechanisms and neural circuits supporting this form of learning.

Learning history in fear of blushing
Behaviour Research and Therapy, 1999Two studies, investigating the learning history (i.e. traumatic conditioning experiences, vicarious learning, informational learning) of individuals with and without fear of blushing, are presented. In study 1, individuals high (n = 61) and low (n = 59) in fear of blushing completed the (revised) Phobic Origin Questionnaire [POQ; Ost, L. G., & Hugdahl,

Generalization of Learned Fear
2016Autonomic hyperarousal and avoidance in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be triggered by a host of stimuli or situations that bear some similarity or association to the trauma event. As these triggers are often encountered in safe environments removed from the original trauma, this overgeneralization of fear and anxiety is a burden that can ...
