Globalization technique for projected Newton–Krylov methods
Large-scale systems of nonlinear equations appear in many applications. In various applications, the solution of the nonlinear equations should also be in a certain interval.

Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Combining stochastic programming and optimal control to solve multistage stochastic optimization problems [PDF]
In this contribution we propose an approach to solve a multistage stochastic programming problem which allows us to obtain a time and nodal decomposition of the original problem.

Two minimax-type methods for solving systems of nonlinear equations [PDF]
summary:The system of equations $h_i(x)=0\ (i=1,\ldots,r;\ x\in E_n)$ is solved by means of iterative methods of minimization of the functions A) $max_i\ h_i(x)$ under the conditions $h_i(x)\geq 0$, B) $max_i\ \left|h_i(x)\right|$.
