Discrete Graphical Models for Alphabet-Based Multisensory Data Fusion and Classification

open access: yes, 2011
The way of multisensory data integration is a crucial step of any data fusion method. Different physical types of sensors (optic, thermal, acoustic, radar, etc.), different resolution, and different types of GIS digital data (elevation, vector maps, etc.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Research on Surface Defects Classification for PET Preform by Fusing Multi-Scale Features

open access: yesIEEE Access
Product quality control is an important component of PET preform production process. In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of PET preform detection, reduce the cost of product quality defects, and improve the overall level of product quality ...

MULTIRESOLUTION IMAGE FUSION: PHASE CONGRUENCY FOR SPATIAL CONSISTENCY ASSESSMENT

open access: yes, 2010
Multiresolution and multispectral image fusion (pan-sharpening) requires proper assessment of spectral consistency but also spatial consistency. Many fusion methods resulting in perfect spectral consistency may leak spatial consistency and vice versa ...

Early Fusion of Features for Semantic Segmentation

open access: yesCoRR
This paper introduces a novel segmentation framework that integrates a classifier network with a reverse HRNet architecture for efficient image segmentation. Our approach utilizes a ResNet-50 backbone, pretrained in a semi-supervised manner, to generate feature maps at various scales.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

INTRAMODAL FEATURE FUSION BASED ON PSO FOR PALMPRINT AUTHENTICATION [PDF]

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2012
Palmprint recognition has attracted various researchers in recent years due to its richness in amount of features. In feature extraction, the single feature has become bottleneck in producing high performance.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
