This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

vDNN: Virtualized Deep Neural Networks for Scalable, Memory-Efficient Neural Network Design
The most widely used machine learning frameworks require users to carefully tune their memory usage so that the deep neural network (DNN) fits into the DRAM capacity of a GPU. This restriction hampers a researcher's flexibility to study different machine

Effect Size Estimation and Misclassification Rate Based Variable Selection in Linear Discriminant Analysis [PDF]
Supervised classifying of biological samples based on genetic information, (e.g. gene expression profiles) is an important problem in biostatistics. In order to find both accurate and interpretable classification rules variable selection is indispensable.
