Ketogenic diet for infantile epileptic spasms
Abstract Approximately half of all cases of Infantile Epileptic Spasms Syndrome (IESS) do not respond to vigabatrin and hormonal therapies. There is no clear consensus as to the second‐line therapy for IESS. Ketogenic diet (KD) has emerged as an effective treatment for certain drug‐resistant epilepsies and in many cases of IESS.

Mixed carnosine and anserine significantly reduce serum uric acid, protect the kidneys, and modulate gut microbiota, demonstrating potent therapeutic potential against hyperuricemia. ABSTRACT The anti‐hyperuricemic, nephroprotective, and gut microbiota modulation effects of mixed carnosine and anserine (MAC) with the fixed ratio of 10:1 were evaluated ...

Vicatia thibetica de Boiss Crude Polysaccharide Delay the Aging of the Heart and Kidneys
Vicatia thibetica de Boiss crude polysaccharide (VTCP) attenuates cardiorenal aging by reducing oxidative stress, suppressing inflammation, and alleviating fibrosis. In naturally aged mice, VTCP remodels the gut microbiota, enriching beneficial short‐chain fatty acid‐producing bacteria. We propose that VTCP protects the heart and kidneys via modulation

In this review, we critically summarized the application of natural polysaccharides (NPs) for the treatment of IBD. This approach combines, in a unique way (right), the basic structure–activity relationships of NPs from different origins (left) with their multipronged mode of action, which involves modulation of the gut microbiota and other ...

Encapsulation protocol for fecal microbiota transplantation
IntroductionClostridioides difficile infections (CDI) continue to pose a challenge for clinicians. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is an effective treatment option in CDI. Furthermore, recent and ongoing studies suggest potential benefits of FMT in other diseases as well.MethodsWe would like to present a novel protocol for encapsulation of ...

Antibiotic Remodeling of the Gut Microbiota Impairs Host Resistance to Secondary Infection
Gut microbial dynamics induced by four antibiotics, revealed distinct taxonomic and functional shifts. Vancomycin‐perturbed bacteriomes were proven to promote pathogen resistance to antibiotic treatment. Metronidazole‐treated mice showed pronounced Salmonella translocation to hepatic tissue, and altered Enterococcus avium populations modulated host ...
