The stability of porcine rotavirus in feces
Veterinary Microbiology, 2000Rotaviruses are known as major causal agents of diarrhea in humans and animals. They affect young animals in intensive rearing and cause great economic losses. This study evaluated the infectivity of porcine rotavirus maintained for 32 months at approximately 10 degrees C in the original stool specimens.

The small-bowel feces sign has been described as a finding indicative of SBO or another severe small-bowel abnormality (ie, metabolic or infectious disease) (1–3). Bowel obstruction accounts for approximately 20% of acute abdominal surgical interventions (4). In 60%–80% of cases of intestinal obstruction, the small bowel is involved (5).
