Feed intake after inhibition of histamine catabolism
Agents and Actions, 1990It has been reported that histamine and its precursor histidine have a feeding-suppressing effect. The present study shows that metoprine (20 mg/kg i.p.), which increases brain histamine levels by inhibiting its catabolism, also significantly decreases daily feed intake in rats.
