ABSTRACT Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the predominant stromal components within the tumor microenvironment (TME), playing multifaceted roles in cancer progression through dynamic interactions with neoplastic and immune cells. Emerging evidence has revealed remarkable heterogeneity and plasticity of CAFs, which originate from diverse ...

Distributed processing of color and form in the visual cortex
To what extent does the visual system process color and form separately? Proponents of the segregation view claim that distinct regions of the cortex are dedicated to each of these two dimensions separately.

Hierarchical Summary Statistics Encoding Across Primary Visual and Posterior Parietal Cortices
This study shows that mouse V1 simultaneously encodes the ensemble mean and variance of motion, providing a robust summary‐statistic representation that persists despite single‐neuron variability. These signals propagate to PPC, where they are transformed into abstract category representations during decision making.

A Soft Robotic Model for Simulating Heart Valve Disease and Cardiac Interventions
This paper introduces a fully synthetic fabrication methodology for a soft robotic, in‐vitro model of the left‐heart, complete with a functioning mitral valve apparatus. With a view towards patient‐specific modeling, we demonstrate physiological flow and pressure waveforms, tunable mitral valve function with clinical imaging compatibility, and its use ...

Observational learning :Tell beginners what they are about to watch and they will learn better
Observation aids motor skill learning. When multiple models or different levels of performance are observed, does learning improve when the observer is informed of the performance quality prior to each observation trial or after each trial?

PAF Triggered Pyroptotic NETosis Aggravates Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury
Platelet activating factor (PAF) secreted by cardiomyocytes during MI/R, drives NETs formation and subsequent NETosis. PAF/NETosis signaling activation is an initiative and causal factor in driving MI/R injury. This study identifies dapagliflozin as a potent NETosis inhibitor, and demonstrates that manipulating PAF‐NETosis signal by dapagliflozin or ...

Planning Regulations and Modelled Constraints in BIM: A Dutch Case Study
Planning regulations determine a substantial part of buildings, but their constraints are usually not included in the setup of a BIM model or used explicitly for design guidance, but only tested in compliance checks once a model has been made.
