Comparative efficacy of different anti-shortening screws in preventing postoperative shortening in displaced femoral neck fractures: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research
Background Femoral neck fractures are common with high complication rates. Postoperative shortening is a significant issue, causing functional decline and increased avascular necrosis risk.

Postoperative Stress Accelerates Atherosclerosis Through Inflammatory Remodeling of the HDL Proteome and Impaired Reverse Cholesterol Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study shows that noncardiac surgical inflammation rapidly disrupts HDL function and cholesterol efflux in mice and human patients. Impaired reverse cholesterol transport after surgery drives rapid lipid accumulation, NETosis, and apoptosis within atherosclerotic plaques.

The clinical application of a novel method of internal fixation for femoral neck fractures—dynamic locking compression system

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2018
Background Femoral neck fractures are the commonly encountered injury in orthopedic practice and result in significant morbidity and mortality. Currently, how to treat femoral neck fractures safely and effectively is still a challenge.

LMO7 Suppresses Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Phagocytosis of Tumor Cells Through Degradation of LRP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LMO7 in tumor‐associated macrophages suppresses phagocytosis of tumor cells and limits cytotoxic T lymphocytes infiltration, fostering tumor progression. Mechanistically, LMO7 mediates the ubiquitination and degradation of the phagocytic receptor LRP1, impairing its ability to engulf tumor cells and driving macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype ...

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Microglial HVCN1 Deficiency Improves Movement and Survival of SOD1G93A ALS Mice by Enhancing Microglial Migration and Neuroprotection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hydrogen voltage gated channel 1 (HVCN1) is upregulated in microglia of both ALS patients and its mouse model. HVCN1 deficiency enhances microglial migration via suppressing Akt signaling, promotes neurotrophic capacity and motor function, and prolongs survival of the SOD1G93A ALS mice. This study identifies HVCN1 as a novel, promising druggable target

Strength analyses of screws for femoral neck fractures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This article represents a multidisciplinary approach to biomechanics (engineering + medicine) in the field of "collum femoris" fractures. One possible treatment method for femoral neck fractures, especially for young people, is the application of ...

Magnetically Responsive Piezoelectric Nanocapacitors Enhance Neural Recovery Following Spinal Cord Injury via Targeted Spinal Magnetic Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel “in vivo–in vitro” therapeutic strategy for spinal cord injury by leveraging magnetically responsive piezoelectric nanomaterials. These nanomaterials enable targeted delivery of localized electrical stimulation at the injury site through noninvasive external magnetic actuation, thereby promoting axonal regeneration and ...
