Possibilities for ablation‐free microforming of borosilicate glass using ultrashort laser pulses are presented. Depending on the laser parameters and scanning strategy, surface structures with profile heights of up to 20 µm could be produced. The work provides a comprehensive experimental and analytical characterization of the microforming process ...

Titanium micromachining by femtosecond laser
In the last two decades, there is a rapid increase in the femtosecond laser applications. Since this type of lasers produce ultrashort pulse durations, which means high peak powers can be obtained, they provide unique advantages. Also, nanoscale science requires structures, which are not possible to fabricate by conventional technologies.

Resonant opto-mechanical modulators and switches by femtosecond laser micromachining.
In this work we demonstrate novel integrated-optics modulators and switches, realized in a glass substrate by femtosecond laser pulses. These devices are based on oscillating microcantilevers, machined by water-assisted laser ablation.
