Miniaturized Devices for On‐the‐Spot Generation of Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An intracorporeal extrusion device is developed for on‐the‐spot generation of vascular grafts with tunable diameters spanning from 1 to 6 mm. The device uses biomimetic polymers and light, to promptly obtaining biocompatible and high‐burst pressure‐resistant grafts.

Relationship between Femur Mineral Content and Local Muscle Strength and Mass

open access: yesJournal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology
Among the stimuli able to prevent early decreases in bone mineralization, exercise has a noticeable role per se as the source of mechanical stimulus or through lean tissue enlargement by its increasing of tensional stimulus.

Hydroxyapatite Binding Peptide Lipid Nanoparticles for Biomimetic mRNA Delivery to Bone

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Targeted delivery of therapeutic mRNA to peripheral tissues, including bone, is currently challenging. In the current work, a hydroxyapatite binding peptide (HABP) is conjugated to mRNA lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). HABP‐LNPs delivered systemically are demonstrated to reduce transfection in the liver and improve transfection in the femurs of mice ...

Quantitative Analysis of the Weakening Effect of Cortical Windows in Non-Osteoporotic and Osteoporotic Proximal Femurs

open access: yesİstanbul Medical Journal
Introduction: Cortical windows in the proximal femur are used in musculoskeletal tumor surgery for both biopsy and curettage purposes. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of cortical windows on the weakening of the proximal femur under axial and ...

Statistical shape modeling of the geometric morphology of the canine femur, tibia, and patella

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Bone morphometry varies among dogs of different sizes and breeds. Studying these differences may help understand the predisposition of certain breeds for specific orthopedic pathologies.

Accelerated Bone Healing via Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electrical stimulation significantly impacts bone healing by enhancing osteoblast proliferation, differentiation, and vascularization through calmodulin/calcineurin/NFAT signaling. It also boosts macrophage function and cell migration, presenting a comprehensive approach to accelerating bone repair.
