Multimodal Assessment of Kidney Quality During 24‐h of Normothermic Machine Perfusion

open access: yesArtificial Organs, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 851-865, June 2026.
Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) has emerged as a promising tool for assessing kidney quality prior to transplantation; however, reliable biomarkers remain to be established. In this study, thirteen porcine kidneys were perfused for 24 h using an autologous leukocyte‐filtered whole blood‐based perfusate applying urine recirculation.

ACR3 as a Key Regulator Antimicrobial Lipopeptide Synthesis and Efflux in Bacillus velezensis HN‐1

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
Lipopeptides are natural antibiotics produced by Bacillus velezensis. Mutation of acr3 led to the complete loss of antimicrobial activity. Following the biological assays for validation, we found ACR3 protein may serve as a master switch of lipopeptides synthesis regulation, and control transmembrane transport of lipopeptides by the ABC pathway ...

Impact of inorganic nitrate on renal sodium excretion during saline loading in healthy adults; secondary endpoints from a randomized crossover trial

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, June 2026.
Abstract Inorganic nitrate may lower blood pressure (BP) and enhance natriuresis through nitric oxide (NO) mediated mechanisms. Studies have found inconsistent effects of NO on sodium excretion. Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibition suggests increased NO promotes natriuresis, whereas inorganic nitrate studies remain inconclusive.

Natriuretic Effect of Dapagliflozin in Cirrhosis With Ascites: A Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Crossover Trial

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hepatology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background Ascites is a frequent complication of decompensated liver cirrhosis and is associated with a poor prognosis. Dapagliflozin, a sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, induces osmotic diuresis and natriuresis, with established use in heart failure.
