O2 Evolution in the Fenton Reaction

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2003
AbstractWe investigated the mechanism involved in the oxygen production in the Fenton chemistry by means of density functional theory calculations. This study extends previous work in which we proposed that the FeIVO2+ complex is the key active intermediate in the Fenton reaction.

Electroactive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrocatalysis is crucial in sustainable energy conversion as it enables efficient chemical transformations. The review discusses how metal–organic frameworks can revolutionize this field by offering tailorable structures and active site tunability, enabling efficient and selective electrocatalytic processes.

Iron-doxorubicin prodrug loaded liposome nanogenerator programs multimodal ferroptosis for efficient cancer therapy

open access: yesAsian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2021
Ferroptosis is a new mode of cell death, which can be induced by Fenton reaction-mediated lipid peroxidation. However, the insufficient H2O2 and high GSH in tumor cells restrict the efficiency of Fenton reaction-dependent ferroptosis.

Interfacial Reactions of Ozone with Surfactant Protein B in a Model Lung Surfactant System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Oxidative stresses from irritants such as hydrogen peroxide and ozone (O_3) can cause dysfunction of the pulmonary surfactant (PS) layer in the human lung, resulting in chronic diseases of the respiratory tract.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Fenton reagent and titanium dioxide nanoparticles as antifungal agents to control leaf spot of sugar beet under field conditions

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2016
In this study, foliar sprays of Fenton solutions (Fenton reaction, Fenton-like reaction and Fenton complex), titanium dioxide (TiO2) and the recommended fungicide (chlorothalonil) were estimated in the control of sugar beet leaf spot caused by Cercospora

Advanced Fenton processing of aqueous phenol solutions:a continuous system study including sonication effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Our previous report based on a batch reactor system for the Advanced Fenton Process (AFP) showed that pH, hydrogen peroxide and the organic substances treated are among the most important factors affecting the oxidation efficiency.
