Composition and decomposition of indestructible Blaschke products [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We prove that the composition of two indestructible Blaschke products is again an indestructible Blaschke product. We also show that if an indestructible Blaschke product is the composition of two bounded analytic functions, then both functions are indestructible Blaschke products.

Biological Synthesis of Reusable Silver Nanoparticle‐Protein Antimicrobial Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Aiming to reduce the toxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), curli fibers are used as a protein scaffold to retain them. Curli‐AgNP films are resilient to broad pH conditions, and several solvents and are mechanically strong. They also show the ability to release AgNPs in alkaline pH but retain them in acidic pH.

Semidirect Products and Wreath Products of Localities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We develop a theory of semidirect products of partial groups and localities. Our concepts generalize the notions of direct products of partial groups and localities, and of semidirect products of groups.

Multiplexed Bio‐detection on an Interferometric Optical Waveguide Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Multiplexed remote bio‐detection is demonstrated through an image conduit composed of 3012 individual cores and coated with interferometric layers. The proof of concept of biodetection is performed through the kinetic monitoring of two complementary DNA strands hybridization paving the way for applications in multiplex in situ biosensing, and ...

Special values of $q$-gamma products [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We consider products of $q$-gamma functions with rational arguments, and prove several $q$-generalizations of recent works concerning products of gamma functions. In particular, we consider products indexed by Dirichlet characters, and provide several new values for infinite products in terms of $e^{-\pi}$ and gamma functions.

Toward “Green” Vessels: Characterization of Microstructure, Mechanics, and Endothelial Cell Interaction on Three Macro‐Tubular Plants for Vascular Tissue Engineering Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The concept of “green” vessels explores naturally derived tubular structures from three decellularized plants—Water Spinach, Green Onion, and Water Horsetail—as innovative alternatives for vessel models and vascular grafts. Microstructural and mechanical testing reveal the promising suturability and mechanical properties of Water Spinach.

Electrophotographic Powder Application for Surface Functionalization of Polymer Parts with Thin Silver‐Nanoadditivated Bactericidal Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Polyamide 12 powder nanoadditivated with laser‐synthesized silver nanoparticles is deposited and sintered on polymer parts via EPA‐PBF‐LB/P. The thin surface coating (140 µm) inhibits E. coli and S. aureus bacteria growth and significantly increases the UV light absorption, whereas the mechanical and thermal properties remain unchanged due to minimal ...
